All Polling Places Opened at 7 a.m.; Voting Proceeding Smoothly
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COLUMBIA, S.C. (January 26, 2008) - All polling places across the state opened on time at 7:00 a.m. Voting is going smoothly. The State Election Commission (SEC) will continue to closely monitor the process throughout the day.
As South Carolinians continue to head to the polls throughout the day, the SEC would like to remind voters of several items:
1. Questions or Concerns Regarding the Election Day Voting Process
South Carolina voters who have questions regarding the voting process should call their county election commission. This will allow election officials to quickly address any potential concerns and help ensure the general election runs efficiently at precincts statewide. Voters may also visit www.scvotes.org for accurate and up-to-date election information.
2. What to bring to the polls to vote
South Carolina voters will be required to show any one of three forms of identification in order to vote: voter registration card, driver's license, or a picture ID issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Election results will be posted tonight at www.scvotes.org as the State Election Commission receives them from each county.
