More Than 2.4 Million South Carolinians Eligible to Vote in Primary
COLUMBIA, SC—More than 2.4 million South Carolinians will be eligible to vote in the Democratic and Republican Primaries on June 13. The number of registered voters in the state has increased by approximately 250,000 since June 2004—a 4% increase.

There is still time for eligible voters to vote absentee. Eligible voters may vote absentee in person at their county voter registration office up until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12. For all voters who have already requested absentee ballots via mail, those ballots must arrive back at the voter registration office my 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13. Polling places will open at 7:00 a.m. on June 13 and remain open until 7:00 p.m. Those waiting in line at 7:00 p.m. will still be allowed to vote.
