April 17 - Voter Registration Deadline for Special Election (mail-in voter registration forms will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, April 18)
May 17 - Special Election
Candidate Filing Information
- Candidates file with the State Election Commission or the county board of voter registration and elections in their county of residence.
- The filing fee for this office is $100. The filing fee is paid by Democratic and Republican party candidates only. Filing fees can be made by check or money order and should be made out to the appropriate State party.
- Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.gov. Failure to file these documents may result in a candidate fine but will not disqualify a candidate from the election. Contact the State Ethics Commission for more information.
