Voter Registration Deadline Nears, Some Counties Hold Saturday Hours
COLUMBIA, S.C. - The State Election Commission wants to remind those not already registered to vote that they must register no later than October 4th to be eligible to participate in the November 4, 2008, General Election.
TO REGISTER TO VOTE:
- Visit your county voter registration office. County offices are open weekly during regular courthouse hours, generally 8:30 to 5:00. Also, many offices will be open Saturday, October 4th. Please see the list below regarding your county's hours on that date.

- Mail your application, postmarked by October 4th. Download and print a voter registration application from scVOTES.org. Complete and mail the form to your county voter registration office. Applications postmarked by October 4th will be accepted. Make sure when dropping your application at a post office or postal service mail box that your application will be postmarked by October 4th.
Voters who have moved from one county to another must register in their new county by October 4th to be eligible to vote in the General Election.
