Deadline Approaching: Register Now for June 9 Statewide Primaries
COLUMBIA, S.C. (May 8, 2026)- With voter registration deadlines quickly approaching, the South Carolina Election Commission is encouraging eligible residents to register or update their voter information now to ensure they can participate in the Statewide Primaries on Tuesday, June 9.
Ways To Register
- Online: Register at scVOTES.gov before midnight on Sunday, May 10th (Requires valid SC Driver’s License, DMV ID card, or SC temporary ID certificate.)
- By Fax or Email: Download a Voter Registration formfrom scVOTES.gov. Complete and return the form to your county voter registration office.
- By fax or email attachment before midnight on Sunday, May 10.
- Mailed applications will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, May 11.
- In Person: Visit your county voter registration office by Friday, May 8th. Most offices will close at 5:00 p.m. Check locally for specific hours.
The following circumstances may require you to register or update your voter registration information:
- Anyone not registered who will be 18 years old on or before November 3, 2026.
- Any voter who has moved to a new county and has not registered there.
- Any voter who has moved from another state and has not registered in South Carolina.
