Over 735,000 Turn Out in the First Week of Early Voting

COLUMBIA, SC (October 28, 2024) – South Carolina voters are making their voices heard in record numbers through the first week of the early voting period. So far, more than 735,000 voters have already turned out to cast their ballot ahead of Election Day, November 5. With another week remaining, the state has already surpassed the total early voting turnout from the 2022 General Election.

Early Voting Turnout for the 2022 General Election

Total: Approximately 561,600

First Week of Early Voting (October 21- October 26)

Total: Approximately 735,400
- Monday, October 21: Approximately 126,700
- Tuesday, October 22: Approximately 127,800
- Wednesday, October 23: Approximately 128,800
- Thursday, October 24: Approximately 127,700
- Friday, October 25: Approximately 134,400
- Saturday, October 26: Approximately 90,000

“We are excited to witness such a strong turnout of early voters making their voices heard,” said Howie Knapp, Executive Director of the South Carolina Election Commission (SEC), “We expect continued record-breaking participation as we enter the second week of early voting."

As voting continues, the SEC would like to remind voters who haven’t cast their ballots yet that they still have time to vote at any early voting center in their county during this period.

Dates: Now – Saturday, November 2.
Times: 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Locations: Check scVOTES.gov or contact your county voter registration office.
Voters will be asked to present a Photo ID when checking in to vote.
