Primaries Certified, Runoffs Set for June 28
COLUMBIA, SC (June 17, 2022) – The results of the June 14 Statewide Primaries have been certified, and the State Election Commission wants to make sure voters understand the rules for voting in the Primary Runoffs on Tuesday, June 28. There will be a runoff for a statewide office in both the Democratic and Republican Primaries, which means everyone who voted in the Primaries can vote in the Primary Runoffs.
- All primary runoffs are listed below. Check your sample ballot at scVOTES.gov to see offices in which you are eligible to vote.
- Voters who voted in the June 14 Primaries are limited to voting in the same party’s runoff.
- Voters who did not vote on June 14 can choose to vote in either party’s runoff.
Absentee Voting
- The deadline to return an absentee application for the Primary Runoffs was today, June 17 at 5:00 p.m.
- County voter registration offices will begin mailing runoff ballots to absentee voters soon.
- Once you get your ballot in the mail, complete and return your ballot to your county voter registration office by mail or in person no later than 7:00 p.m. on June 28.
- Be sure to sign the voter’s oath and have the return envelope witnessed.
- Photo ID will be required to return your ballot in person.
Early Voting Period
- Wednesday, June 22 – Friday, June 24.
- 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Polling Place on Election Day
- Open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on June 28.
- Check your polling place at scVOTES.gov before leaving to vote. Some polling places may have changed since the runoffs.
