September 20 is National Voter Registration Day
COLUMBIA, S.C. (September 20, 2022) – Today is National Voter Registration Day and the State Election Commission is asking all voters in South Carolina to celebrate by making sure they are registered and ready to vote in the 2022 Statewide General Election.
Less than three weeks remain before the voter registration deadline for the November 8 Statewide General Election:
- Register online at scVOTES.gov(must be received by Sunday, October 9).
- Download a voter registration form from scVOTES.gov. Complete and return the form to your county voter registration office:
- By fax or email attachment (must be received by Sunday, October 9).
- By mail (must be postmarked by Tuesday, October 11).
- Register in person at your county voter registration office (most offices will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7 for in-office registrations).
Already registered? Have you checked recently?
- Help make your election day easy by checking your registration today at scVOTES.gov to make sure it’s up to date.
- If you have moved from one county to another, you must register in your new county by the deadline to be eligible to vote.
- If you've moved within your county or changed your name recently, update your information prior to election day to help ensure a smoother voting process.
