South Carolina State Election Commission Thanks Voters, Poll Workers, and Election Officials for a Successful Municipal Election Day

COLUMBIA, S.C. (November 7, 2025) – The South Carolina State Election Commission (SEC) celebrated another successful Municipal Election Day in the Palmetto State this week – thanking all of the voters, poll workers, and election officials who ensured this week’s voting ran smoothly.

Election officials and poll workers worked tirelessly to uphold secure, accurate, and accessible elections. In total, 227 elections took place across 40 counties.

“Every election is a team effort, and our team is grateful to work with so many partners who share our commitment to strengthening trust in South Carolina’s elections,” said State Election Commission Interim Director Jenny Wooten. “On behalf of the South Carolina State Election Commission, thanks to everyone who helped ensure a smooth and successful Municipal Election Day.”

As the 2026 election season approaches, the SEC reminds all South Carolinians to Prep for the Polls: register to vote, and update or verify your voter information today.

  • You can register online, by mail, email, fax, or in person.
  • Visit scVOTES.gov to make sure your voter registration record is current.
  • If you have moved from one county to another, you must register in your new county to be eligible to vote.
  • If you’ve moved within your county or changed your name recently, update your information prior to election day to help ensure a smoother voting experience.
