The State Election Commission Thanks Municipal Election Day Voters, Poll Workers, & Election Officials

COLUMBIA, S.C. (November 8, 2023) – The State Election Commission (SEC) wants to thank all voters, poll workers, and local election officials who each played a vital role in making Municipal Election Day a success. State and county election officials work hard all year to ensure that elections are secure and run smoothly, but we can’t do it alone.

“Thank you to everyone for a great Municipal Election Day,” said Howie Knapp, Executive Director of the SEC. “Hundreds of elections across the state ran smoothly, with thousands of voters making their voices heard at the ballot box. This success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the poll workers, election officials, and voters.”

The 2024 election cycle is just around the corner and the SEC is encouraging citizens to get prepared for the polls by registering to vote and making sure their registration is up to date.

  • You can register online, by mail, email, fax, or in person.
  • Visit scVOTES.gov to make sure your voter registration record is current.
