Three-Day Early Voting Period Begins August 19 for U.S. Senate Special Republican Primary Runoff
COLUMBIA, S.C. (August 17, 2026) – Early voting for the U.S. Senate Special Republican Primary Runoff begins Wednesday, August 19. Ahead of the early voting period, the State Election Commission (SEC) is sharing important information for eligible voters who plan to vote early.
Key Tips for Early Voting
Who: Not every voter is eligible to participate in the Special Republican Primary Runoff. Voters who participated in the June Democratic Primary or Runoff are not eligible to vote in this Runoff.
When: The early voting period is from Wednesday, August 19 through Friday August 21.
Time: Early voting polling locations are open from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Where: Before leaving home, voters should verify their early voting polling locations, as some early voting polling locations may have changed for this August election. Voters can check their early voting polling location on scVOTES.gov or contact their county voter registration office.
What do I need to bring?: Voters will need to present one of the following forms of current and valid Photo IDs when checking in to vote.
Acceptable Photo IDs include:
- S.C. Driver’s License
- S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles ID Card
- S.C. Voter Registration Card with Photo
- Federal Military ID
- U.S. Passport
